An early collected edition in original full straight grained morocco bindings, gilt and blind decorated with leather turned over on to the front pastedowns, also with gilt and blind decoration. All edges are gilt, endpapers are silk and there is a silk inlay on pastdowns creating 'panels'. Each volume has a beautiful early fore-edge painting of a different Italian scene. They look to have been applied after the gilding. A wonderful example in a fine binding that is just a little rubbed and creased. Very good. View more info
