8 pp. Original printed pink wraps. In a solander box with dark green morocco spine over green cloth. Raised bands and gilt lettering to spine. Wraps creased and spotted. The second essay is by F. J. C. Skeffington who was a friend of Joyce's at University College, Dublin. Both had written articles for a new college magazine, 'St. Stephen's,' and both were rejected for reasons of censorship. Consequently they decided to publish them independently and went into Gerrard Brothers, a stationery shop near the college, and had 85 copies printed, probably in November 1901. A VG copy.
